Job Description:
Design, develop, code and test the work products assigned based on requirement analysis and design within the stipulated time.
Project / Process. Create design documents – may include creation of Proof of Concepts and prototypes. Prepare and review technical architecture and design wherever applicable. Conduct testing - Unit testing, assist in system testing, set up environment and data, creation of test plan documents. Participate in project status review meetings and report status to the project lead. Follow quality assurance norms and guidelines Conduct peer reviews during design, coding and testing. Interface with quality reviewers and auditors for their modules. Participate and conduct technical audits for projects within the domain/BU.
Contribute to process improvements and value adds. Take on a project wide role e.g. configuration management for all modules or defect prevention coordinator.
People / Team. Guide and mentor team from a technical perspective to ensure delivery of the module. Prepare guidelines and checklists for the team, track issues to closure. Review code produced by the developers Conduct knowledge transfer sessions for new joiners in the project team. Complete mandatory training for self and the mentor team members
Mandatory Skill:
- Experience in MVS / ESA environments & usage of TSO and ISPF commands
- Experience in Languages such as COBOL and JCL & File Handling such as VSAM
- Experience in using CICS / ADS/O / TELON & developing queries using SPUFI
- Experience in either of the following databases - DB2, IDMS, IMS or Adabase
- Experience either of the following Version control tools such as ISPW, Panvalet & Changeman
Desired Skills:
- Working knowledge SDLC, AGILE, Unit Testing, Quality Metrics
